The Loveland, CO Sculpture Invitational

by on Aug.24, 2011, under Uncategorized

Hi Everybody, we’re back!

Loveland was a B-L-A-S-T! It was SUPER cool and I met TONS of people.  I, of course, was the complete center of attention. They couldn’t stop STARING at me, which I completely understand. I mean, look at me! They couldn’t believe I could stand all day on my skates. They even complimented me on my strong arms – that tray gets SO heavy. Around me were all of these wild animals but I got to look at a cool wave all weekend and it made me feel like I was totally at the beach! I added a picture of it so you could see. It’s one of Rob’s “latest” pieces and I think it’s just “fab”! Lots of collectors came in to the booth and would go on and on to Rob about his Climbers and some old Da Vinci guy’s amazing faces. I swear, I thought Rob’s head was gonna swell up like a balloon! He’s gotta feel just super awesome after all of this. They all thought he was just the cat’s whiskers…

Anyway, I gotta go. This food’s not going to deliver itself! Oops! There goes another milkshake!

by on Apr.08, 2011, under Carhop, Signature Series

“Lulu” the Car Hop made her public debut in February at the Medford Classic Car Show. Accompanied by a beautiful blue Chevy Bel Air Nomad, she was a admired by all who saw her. In fact, some wound up asking her for her number. (Her answer: “I’m not numbered, I’m an ORIGINAL!”)

Grotesques – Harry

by on Mar.03, 2011, under Bronzes, Grotesques, Harry

Harry – The Duke’s third son.  His chances of ever inheriting his father’s estate are extremely remote, thereby keeping him from ever achieving any social stature.  So, he took the route most easily traveled for a man of “means without stature”. He became the Town Drunk. Toiling day in and day out on his “pub crawls”, he is a happy man in his pursuits, at least until the end of the day when his father’s servants come collect him from a roadside puddle.  If he had an ounce of ambition he could – oh, forget it. It’s never going to happen.

Grotesques – Gurt

by on Mar.03, 2011, under Bronzes, Grotesques, Gurt

Gurt – Sophia’s daughter and the wife of the Duke. Her half-Germanic heritage has caused her to be a staunch, opinionated and grumpy woman. On the surface, she has a terrible distain for her “Italian” position. Deep down she is terrified of the possibilities of losing everything that she has. She coddles and suplicates to the Duke to keep her station secure, easily swaying her man to her own way of thinking. Behind his back, though, she is a tyrant to servants and the household staff.

Bronze Limited Edition Approx. Dimensions: 15 1/2″ x 13″ x 13″

The Flyer

by on Mar.03, 2011, under Bronzes, Climbers, The Flyer

The Flyer – A companion piece to the Climber figure. The Flyer is meant to signify our faith and what keeps us aloft.  “Faith” is really what keeps us moving in life; its support is really no more stable than a kite in the wind – but it still keeps us afloat!

Available with the Kite support, to keep the figure standing on the edge of a shelf (as pictured), or the Climber’s “reaching arm” support so the figure can repel down a flat wall space.

Bronze Limited Edition Approx. Dimensions: 8″ x 5″ x 6 1/2″ (Figure)

Grotesques – Francesca

by on Feb.28, 2011, under Bronzes, Francesca, Grotesques

Francesca – The so-called “wash” woman of the Duke’s household. She also sees to it that the kitchen staff is running smoothly, the supplies are in order and her “man”, Bill, isn’t off napping away an afternoon drunk. Anyone caught shirking their duties has met with her large, wooden spoon. The memories of it still haunt them to this day.

Bronze Limited Edition: Dimensions aprox. 15 1/2″ x 12″ x 9″

Grotesques – Agnes

by on Feb.28, 2011, under Agnes, Bronzes, Grotesques

Agnes – Sometimes referred to as “The Nanny”,  Agnes is the true head of the household. She maintains order and efficiency now that the Duke’s children are grown.  What once was a babysitting job has evolved into Chief Director. Her mind is lightening fast and her temper – lethal. Her main fault is her vanity. Her youth long since buried, she makes every attempt to hold herself together in the secret hopes that some fine, upstanding (and malleable) gentleman will sweep her away to some far away castle and cater to her every whim.

Bronze, Dimensions Approx.: 15″ x 13″ x 11″
